Job Description - Electrical Test Technician - 2nd Shift

Eaton\u2019s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Electrical Test Technician - 2nd Shift. \n\nWe are a leader in the design and production of critical power distribution products for many specific segements. \n\nThe Electrical Test Technician- 2nd Shift role offers a full time work week of 40 hours and potential overtime. \n\nHours: 1:45 PM- 10:15 PM. \n\nFull Benefits and 401k plan is offered to you day one of employment.\u200b \n\nThe hourly rate for this position is $29.12 plus $1.00 shift premium per hour plus a $1.00/hr shift premium.\n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nThis position will be responsible for testing and/or modifying electrical equipment post-production, prior to shipment to customers. It will also be responsible for inspecting product functions and monitoring test procedures.\n\nIn this function you will: \nPerform system tests, including IR and dielectric testing, and complete written test reports, logs and records Troubleshoot electrical problems in complex systems \nTroubleshoot AC/DC circuitry and printed circuit assemblies to the component level Assemble, set-up programs and perform functional tests on circuit boards \nOrganize work by receiving work requests; studying wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications. \nTesting systems and electrical components; determining cause of problems and requirements to solve problems \nUse test equipment including digital meter, current meter, out of phase transformer, variac transformer resistive load bank, hi-pot tester, current clamp, computer, and infrared camera\n\nMaintain safe work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations and codes\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic): \n\u2022 High School Diploma or GED required from an accredited educational institution \n\u2022 1-3 years of experience in electrical test or related electronic technologies field, preferably in a manufacturing environment \n\u2022 Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship \n\u2022 Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates in the immediate geographical area (50 mile radius) will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.\n\nPreferred: \n\u2022 Associates degree in electronics or electrical engineering technology \n\u2022 Prior training with electrical equipment and testing procedures Read and understand one-line drawings, wire lists, and schematics \n\u2022 Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) \n\u2022 Understanding of delta-wye 3 phase transformer and resistive load bank technology\n\n## Skills:\n\n * May be required to sit, stand and walk on a regular basis. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds throughout work shift.\n * May be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, push and/or pull.\n\n\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
