Job Description - Electrical Tester I - 2nd Shift

Eaton\u2019s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Electrical Tester I - 2nd Shift to join our team in South Milwaukee, WI!\n\nThe hourly rate for this position is $29.60 per hour + $2.50 per hour shift premium.\n\nThe core hours are 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm. Electrical Tester I is expected to continue through tester progression to Electrical Tester II, following the documented timeline and expectation provided in the test book.\n\nIn this function, you will:\n\n\u2022 Test equipment, ensure it meets customer specifications as well as safety and quality requirements under supervision. \n\u2022 Ensure a safe work environment for self and others and ensure safety procedures are followed. \n\u2022 Constantly evolve in product and process knowledge; requiring additional classroom work, assigned reading, and training from an Electrical Tester II or Engineer. \n\u2022 Build positive relationships that support job objectives and a team environment. \n\u2022 Develop rapport and establish relationships with customers; will interface heavily with customers on witness tests under the supervision and guidance of an Electrical Tester II. \n\u2022 Record data and write reports, process paperwork timely, accurately, and with accountability. \n\u2022 Follow procedures with accuracy, efficiently and with strict attention to details. \n\u2022 Troubleshoot and repair various problems that could occur during course of test such as warranty and non-warranty problems; requires Tester to think critically to solve problems with the assistance of an Electrical Tester II or Engineer. \n\u2022 Continuously improve work environment processes; may require Tester to suggest ways to develop test setups and new procedures when current procedures are inadequate. \n\u2022 Troubleshoot and repair warranty and non-warranty problems. \n\u2022 Recognize and report quality issues through the correct channels as they arise. \n\n\u2022 Perform electrical testing or service work (i.e. physical and mental activities) on equipment ranging from 5VDC (logic devices, zone interlocking signals, etc.) up to 30KVAC three phase power. \n\u2022 Assist Design and Application Engineers with special test projects. \n\u2022 Perform other tasks as required.\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications:\n\n * An associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field from an accredited institution.\n * Previous experience with electrical concepts such as electricity, motors and controls, PLC programming, and the fundamentals of AC/DC.\n\n\n * Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.\n\n\n\n \nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Experience with protective relays.\n * Previous work experience troubleshooting electrical and/or mechanical problems. \n * Previous experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.\n\n\n\n## Skills:\n\n * Advanced Troubleshooting Technique. Test Equipment Operation, and computer skills.\n * Advanced Test Equipment Operation\n * Strong knowledge of the company\u0027s electrical, electronic, and mechanical products. \n * Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment. \n * Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction.\n * Ability to repetitively work at elevated heights, standing, climbing, squatting, bending, kneeling with or without reasonable accommodations.\n * Ability to repetitively lift, hold, push, pull, handle up to 35 pounds without reasonable accommodations.\n * Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.\n\n\n\n#IND123\n\n#LI-SB2\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
