Electrical/RF Engineer

Description

Compass Systems, Inc. is seeking an an experienced electrical engineer with detailed knowledge and experience with pulsed-power  and troubleshooting electrical/electronic control systems. 

• Works alongside a team of  electrical engineers/engineering technicians to develop engineering  procedures and controls, manage project efforts and take the lead in problem resolution
• Interfaces with program contractors, vendors and government representatives regarding the technical aspects of engineering projects, test scheduling, planning and test conduct
• Researches and assists with design and integrates high power transmitter systems
• Operates and maintains high voltage equipment used to perform electromagnetic capability testing
• Plans and conducts electromagnetic compatibility simulation testing, data collection,  processing and analyses
• Identifies system malfunctions and coordinates repair and maintenance requirements

Requirements

Qualifications/Education/Experience:

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or other relevant fields.
• 3 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment
• Experience with RF systems including but not limited  to radars and magnetrons
• Experience working as a team lead
• Willing to work both indoors and outdoors
• Knowledge and experience using electronic test equipment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications to include; MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

 Desired Skills:

• Experience using high power systems
• Familiarity with Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing
• Previous experience working with military aircraft

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit, walk, see, hear, and feel. Occasionally will need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Moderate environment temperature and noise level. Must be able to interpret data, information, and documents. Can learn and apply new information and/or skills.
