Job Description - Electrician

Location: Brownsville, TX

Pay: $20 - $35 per hour

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled and safety‑driven Electrician to support installation, troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning of electrical systems across a variety of projects. This role is ideal for someone who excels in technical problem‑solving, works confidently with tools and electrical systems, and thrives in a physically demanding environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Interpret drawings and electrical plans to determine work procedures, tools, and equipment needed for troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit; weld supports; install cable and duct banks; and perform terminations.
  • Install control and distribution apparatus and secure components in place.
  • Test and start up systems, verifying continuity and ensuring electrical compatibility and safety.
  • Observe system performance to identify hazards, adjustments, relocations, or replacements.
  • Pull wire through conduit and connect wiring to fixtures and power equipment as needed.
  • Work with medium‑ and low‑voltage systems.
  • Disassemble, diagnose, and repair defective electrical equipment or systems.
  • Operate electrical and mechanical hand tools, as well as power, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical tools.

Requirements

  • Must pass a pre‑employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Must hold a current State of Texas Journeyman or Master Electrician License.
  • Ability to lift and handle materials up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb, and crawl.
  • Ability to correctly rig and hoist materials.
  • Comfortable working at heights and maintaining balance.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, and work outdoors in extreme weather conditions (cold, wet, heat).
  • Willingness to work long and irregular hours (50–70 hours per week).
  • Reliable, punctual attendance in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and applicable standards.
  • Ability to safely perform all essential job functions while meeting productivity expectations.
