Electrician

The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for troubleshooting electrical issues, identifying root causes, repairing, or replacing components, rewiring   systems, and installing related electrical and instrumentation equipment.

This   position helps ensure electrical work is completed safely, accurately, and in   compliance with applicable electrical codes through routine testing, inspection, maintenance, and repair activities.

· High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.

· Five or more years of industrial maintenance or electrical experience preferred.

· Working knowledge of 480V, 110V, 220V, 440V, and three-phase electrical systems.

· Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical systems and components.

· Current electrician’s license or identification card as required by applicable regulations.

Effective communication, teamwork, problem-solving, dependability, and time-management skills. 

1. Review blueprints or   prepare sketches to determine the location of wiring and equipment while   supporting compliance with building and safety codes.

2. Install conduit,   pipes, or tubing in designated areas and pull insulated wires or cables   through conduit to complete electrical circuits.

3. Operate construction   equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, including   oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps, as needed.

4. Assemble, install,   test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances,   apparatus, and fixtures using appropriate hand and power tools.

5. Troubleshoot   malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components using test equipment and   hand tools to identify issues and complete corrective actions.

6. Inspect electrical   systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, needed   adjustments or repairs, and compliance requirements.

7. Install ground leads   and connect power cables to equipment, including motors and related   machinery.
