OVERVIEW: The Electromechanical Technician will support the operation and maintenance of automated equipment in a food manufacturing facility. This role is essential for ensuring continuous, safe, and efficient production. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of electrical and mechanical systems, including conveyors, packaging equipment, and automated machinery. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on electromechanical equipment, including but not limited to motors, conveyors, sensors, and PLCs.
Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential equipment malfunctions or failures, ensuring minimal downtime.
Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to effectively troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems.
Work closely with the production and engineering teams to understand equipment functionality and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Calibrate, adjust, and replace components on equipment to maintain operational efficiency.
Assist with the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used, following GMP and regulatory standards.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and practices, and participate in safety training as required.
Collaborate with other technicians and supervisors to improve equipment reliability and plant efficiency.
Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current on industry practices, technology, and safety standards.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in Electromechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in electromechanical maintenance, ideally in a food or manufacturing environment.
