Electronic & Computer Systems Technician

Position Summary: Dynic's designs and manufactures industrial computer systems, workstations, and custom electronic assemblies. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented technician to join our electrical engineering and manufacturing team.

This is a dual role position. The primary focus is designing and building custom wire harnesses and cable assemblies for our industrial computer systems — but you'll also support us as a general computer technician, working with components like motherboards, single-board computers, power supplies, RAM/SSD, operating systems, and more. You will help test-fit new mechanical designs, run thermal testing on new hardware, and ensure everything we ship is reliable and built to last.

What You'll Do

• Design custom wiring harnesses for a variety of computers and other industrial electronics.
• Assemble wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and electronic subassemblies from engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Cut, strip, crimp, terminate, bundle, and label wires and cables.
• Perform soldering and connector installation.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and electrical schematics.
• Build and configure industrial computers: install motherboards, SBCs, power supplies, RAM/SSD, and operating systems.
• Test-fit new mechanical designs and assist with thermal testing of new hardware.
• Use multimeters and test equipment to verify voltage, continuity, resistance, and proper operation.
• Troubleshoot wiring and assembly issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform inspection and quality checks to ensure assemblies meet specifications.
• Maintain production records and documentation and help keep inventory organized.
• Follow all company safety, quality, and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) procedures.
• Support continuous improvement efforts across the department.

What We're Looking for: We do not expect you to know everything on day one — we have successfully trained past technicians on cable and harness design. What matters most is a solid technical foundation, good mechanical aptitude, and the ability and willingness to learn.

• Basic technical understanding of electrical and electronic components (required).
• Ability to read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings (required) — some experience is great, but a strong aptitude to learn is what we truly need.
• Comfort using hand tools, wire strippers, crimping tools, and basic test instruments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills.

Helpful, But Not Required

• Prior experience with cable or wire harness assembly, electronics manufacturing, or a related field.
• Experience working with low-voltage DC electronic systems.
• Experience building or upgrading computers (desktop or industrial).
• Soldering experience.
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with ESD-safe manufacturing practices.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Frequent use of hands for precision assembly work.
• Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to distinguish wire colors and perform detailed visual inspections.
• Ability to safely operate assembly and testing equipment.
