Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add an Electronics Engineer \u2013 Subsystems OR Principal Electronics Engineer - Subsystems to our team in Rancho Bernardo, CA. This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization.\n\nThe selected candidate will be responsible for the installation, integration, and troubleshooting of aviation-related subsystems, component sub-systems, Sensor Management Units, and Data Recorders.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: \n\n * Support system integration, test development, and execution of various types of complex avionics systems\n * Create and develop documentation for system requirements and interfaces, including system engineering drawings and diagrams\n * Troubleshoot systems to resolve complex issues\n * Interact and coordinate with responsible subsystems engineers responsible for sustaining subsystems\n * Serve as an interface between the Operations \u0026 Test organization and the engineers\n * Ensure subsystem(s) performance meets specified levels\n * Proactively maintain overall system performance of deployed subsystems\n * Perform troubleshooting, document issues, and coordinate field replacements/upgrades of subsystems\n * Contribute to improvement of processes, design, and future sustainment efforts\n * Actively participate in Program Risk and Opportunity Management\n\n\n\nThe selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. Once established in role, the position could potentially offer a hybrid work environment. Scheduled telework days are approved at manager\u0027s discretion.\n\nThis position requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time.\n\nThis position can be filled at either the Electronics Engineer - Subsystems level or the Principal Electronics Engineer - Subsystems level, depending upon the qualifications below.\n\nBasic Qualifications for Electronics Engineer - Subsystems:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master\u2019s degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience.\n * Experience with RedHat and VxWorks\n * Active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).\n * Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/SAR).\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications for Principal Electronics Engineer - Subsystems:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s Degree in a relevant STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master\u2019s degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a relevant STEM degree and 1 year of related engineering experience.\n * Experience with RedHat and VxWorks\n * Active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).\n * Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/SAR).\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications for both levels:\n\n * Experience with production, electrical chassis assembly, and circuit card assemblies\n * Experience with Supplier Management\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
