Elementary Academic Tutor - ASD & ADHD Support (Mandarin/Cantonese Preferred)

About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Monterey Park, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Monterey Park, CA
• Schedule: 25 hours, 4 sessions a week for one and a half hour (1.30 hours)
• Pay range is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD.
• Skilled in early elementary literacy, writing, and math instruction.
• Patient, consistent, and engaging, with the ability to adapt instruction to the student’s needs.
• Ability to assist families in understanding IEP processes and documentation.
• Bilingual in Mandarin or Cantonese preferred but not required.
• Passionate about helping students build academic confidence and communication skills.
• Preferred: Degree or credential in Education, Special Education, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction in writing, reading, and math, including spelling, sentence construction, reading comprehension, and basic math concepts and word problems.
• Support the development of organized and clear written expression, including short story writing and structured writing exercises.
• Use visual supports, structured routines, and interactive activities to maintain engagement and focus.
• Implement positive reinforcement and strategies to manage mild frustration or overwhelm during sessions.
• Assist the parent in understanding IEP documentation and academic goals when needed.
• Integrate student interests and creativity into lessons to promote motivation and confidence.
• Collaborate with existing support systems, including therapy services, as appropriate.
