Charter School in the New York City Area
Competitive Salary Range that Outpaces DOE Scale: $75,000 to $110,000 per year, with potential flexibility based on experience

Terrific Elementary Teacher position for the 2026-2027 school year with a charter school in the New York City area. This position will join a highly collaborative and mission-driven school focused on meeting the academic and social-emotional needs of its 400+ students. The ideal Elementary School Teacher will have a passion for teaching a student population impacted by foster care or the child welfare system.

Responsibilities:

Work with a co-teacher to create and teach curriculum and lessons that are aligned with Common Core Standards

Foster an environment that inspires and encourages students in their education

Establish routines that ensure a focused environment for students

Collaborate with colleagues and leaders to analyze data to inform instruction and share best practices

Qualifications:

Approximately 2+ years of relevant elementary school teaching experience

Master's degree preferred, NYS teaching certification is a plus but not required

Experience in a charter school environment is a plus

Strong classroom management with the ability to motivate students

Mission-driven individual, passionate about teaching in underserved communities

Bi-lingual Spanish a plus
