Elementary/Middle School Recess & Lunch Aide Opportunity (K-8th) - 2025/26 School Year

Paul Robeson Charter School (PRCS) is a free, lottery-based, open-enrollment charter school serving students from across Trenton in grades K-1 and 3-8. The 2025-26 school year is an exciting year for PRCS because we will start serving students in 2nd grade and become a full K-8 school!

Opportunity

PRCS is seeking passionate and hardworking Lunch & Recess Aide to join the PRCS family for the 2025-26 School Year. The person will be apart of the Support Services team and work with Elementary and Middle School students. This is a part-time position with a weekly schedule of Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Receive food shipments and deliveries;


• Prepare and heat up meals for students;


• Serve meals to students at lunch time;


• Support with light cleaning;


• Support the Operations team with light clerical work for school wide events and initiatives;


• Assists and guides students during lunch and recess;


• Assists with behavioral management to minimize disruptions, ensure a safe and orderly school environment, and ensure student safety;


• Assist in organizing various play activities and games as provided;


• Supervise the dismissal of students from recess;


• Inform building administration immediately of any serious disciplinary problems and building administration informed of any safety concerns;


• Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs;


• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to lift 40 lbs.


• Positive attitude and friendly demeanor


• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.


• Knowledge of standard health standards and regulations as they apply to food preparation and service.

Education and Workplace Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.


• Previous experience working in a school setting preferred.
