Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nJob Summary \nReporting to the Embedded Electronics \u0026 PCB Design CoE Manager, this role sits at the intersection of power electronics, embedded systems, and advanced protection technologies, supporting the development of intelligent trip units and digital circuit protection architectures that enable safer, smarter, and more connected electrical infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a multi-discipline engineering teams in the Center of Excellence and the circuit Protection Division, distributed around the world. \n\n \nJob Responsibilities \nAs a senior technical contributor, you will: \n\u2022 Responsible to execute full Hardware development life cycle including requirements management, design, development, verification \u0026 validation, qualification \u0026 certification for electronics-based circuit protection products \n\u2022 Architect and design hardware subsystems including: \n\\- Driver circuits \n\\- Protection \u0026 sensing circuits \n\\- Metering systems \n\\- Communication interfaces \n\\- Human-machine interfaces \n\u2022 Translate product requirements into robust technical specifications in collaboration with marketing and applications teams \n\u2022 Execute hardware design, validation, and qualification testing \n\u2022 Partner with controls teams to develop and validate fault management algorithms using HIL platforms \n\u2022 Own detailed development planning, requirements traceability, and issue tracking \n\u2022 Conduct and participate in formal design and quality reviews \n\u2022 Drive technical excellence and innovation, including IP generation \n\u2022 Collaborate with R\u0026D, Electrical and Industrial Sector Centers of Excellence, national labs, and universities \n\u2022 Operate within Eaton\u2019s phase-gate new product development processes\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic Qualifications (Must Haves):\n\n * Bachelors\u0027 degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, power electronics, systems engineering or mechanical engineering with an electrical and/or controls specialization\n * Minimum of 10 years of experience in new product development\n * Minimum of 7 years of experience architecting, designing or developing embedded electronic products\n * Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications \n\u2022 Experience in solid-state or hybrid circuit breaker control systems \n\u2022 proficiency layout tools: Altium, Alegro (Cadence) \n\u2022 Experience with wireless technologies (Bluetooth, WiFi, Zigbee/Matter) \n\u2022 Familiarity with project tracking tools (Jira, JAMA) \n\u2022 Experience transitioning designs into production environments \n\u2022 Experience working in multi-disciplinary development teams\n\n## Skills:\n\nTechnical knowledge \n\n\u2022 Circuit Design \u0026 Simulation: Proficient in high-speed, digital, mixed-signal, and analog circuit design using tools like PSpice, LTSpice, and ModelSim. \n\u2022 knowledge for various Communication protocols like USB, SPI, I2C, wireless Proficiency in simulation tools like PSpice, LTSpice, Model-Sim \n\u2022 Familiarity with microcontroller and processor families, embedded power architectures \n\u2022 Proven experience in system/hardware architecture, topology definition, or platform-level design. \n\u2022 End-to-End Product Execution: Led multiple medium-to-high complexity projects from concept to commercialization, including POC, verification, validation, and certification to global standards. \n\u2022 Hands-On Design Expertise: Proficient in PCB design, component selection, schematic creation, product testing, prototype development, and industrialization. \n\u2022 Standards Compliance: Deep knowledge of UL, IEC, and NEC standards \n\u2022 EMI/EMC: Experienced in EMI/EMC analysis, filter design, \n\u2022 Lifecycle \u0026 Architecture Ownership: Led full hardware development lifecycle including requirements, architecture, design, verification, validation, and certification. \n\u2022 Strategic Collaboration \u0026 Innovation: Strong communicator and influencer, proposing innovative solutions, managing schedules, and protecting IP through patents/disclosures. \n\u2022 Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) \n\u2022 Communication Protocols \u0026 PCB Design: Strong grasp of digital interfaces and protocols (RS232, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, Modbus, BACNet, CAN, etc), schematic entry, and PCB design for EMI/EMC compliance. \n\u2022 Validation \u0026 Global Collaboration: Skilled in hardware validation, physical layer testing, and power systems analysis, with excellent cross-cultural collaboration capabilities. \n\u2022 Leadership \u0026 Technical Competency: Proven ability to lead through influence, build technical competency across teams, and drive product development for commercial viability.\n\nSoft skills
