Emergency Department (ED) Clerk, PRN

Position Highlights:

• Job Type: ED Clerk


• Location: Community Hospital


• Schedule: PRN

Responsibilities:

• Completes admitting functions for outpatients and ER patients.


• Collects and verifies accurate insurance information.


• Collects financial paperwork (i.e. Patient responsibility statement, etc).


• Completes HDC questionnaire for patients requesting screenings and all uninsured patients during the long registration process and uploads into chart.


• Contacts physician offices, for Emergency Department physicians, regarding consults and admissions.


• Notifies ancillary departments and tracks information for Trauma alerts and activations.


• Overhead pages all Codes throughout the hospital.


• Answers phone appropriately and transfers as needed. 

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required


• Customer Service Skills required


• Medical Terminology required

Compensation:

• $19.00 - $21.85 per hour, depending on education and experience.


• Discretionary bonuses, relocation expenses, merit increase, market adjustments, recognition bonuses, and other forms of discretionary compensation may be available.
