Are you passionate about making a real impact in your community? Marshalltown Hospital - Emergency Medical Services is searching for a driven EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic to join our extraordinary team. Our service boasts a fleet of seven ambulances and one SUV, delivering critical pre-hospital 911 care across Marshall County and parts of Jasper and Grundy Counties. We also handle interfacility transports for several UnityPoint Health locations.

• Assesses the needs of patients and families, providing appropriate prehospital medical care.
• Adapts and adjusts the patient’s care plan according to the patient’s needs in the prehospital setting.
• Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient’s care.
• Carries out high quality patient care while following the scope of practice set out by the State of Iowa Public Health Department Bureau of EMS and this ambulance service.
• Must be able to transport a behavioral health patient utilizing an ambulance or secure car.

EMT Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Valid chauffer’s driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
• Current Iowa certification as an EMT.
• Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.
• Basic computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser.

Advanced EMT Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Valid chauffer’s driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
• Current certification as Iowa Advanced-EMT.
• Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.
• Basic computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser.

Paramedic Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of EMS training from an approved training course.
• Valid Iowa Chauffeur’s License.
• Current certification at EMT-PM level is required.
• Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.
• Basic computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser.
