Job Description - Emergency Medicine - NP/PA

JOB OVERVIEW

• Job Title: Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant – Emergency Medicine

• Job Type: Locum Tenens

• Location: Traverse City & Grayling, MI

• Service Setting: Hospital

• Coverage Type: Clinical Only

• Coverage Period: Late October 2025 – Ongoing

• Clinical Shift Schedule: 7a–7p and 7p–7a (days and nights required)

COVERAGE DATES

• Late October 2025 – Ongoing

PATIENT INFORMATION

• Patient Demographics: Adults

• Patient Volume/Census: Munson – 50,000 annual ED visits; Grayling – 18,000 annual ED visits

• Case Mix: Emergency, trauma (Munson only)

FACILITY INFORMATION

• Trauma Level: Munson – Level II; Grayling – No trauma level

• EMR System: Munson – Cerner; Grayling – Meditech

• Support Staff Available: 3 daily NPPA shifts at Munson (31 hours total), 24hr physician coverage at Grayling

• Reason for Coverage: Supplemental

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

• Credentialing Timeline: Targeting late October to early November

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance covered

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Licenses: Active Michigan License and DEA

• Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine

• DEA: Active DEA Certification

• Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS

• Experience: Clean file required

• Other Qualifications: Must be willing to work both days and nights

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide emergency medical care at both Munson Medical Center and Grayling Hospital

• Rotate across facilities as required

• Deliver patient-centered and community-focused care

• Support military and law enforcement medical needs at Camp Grayling (Grayling Hospital)
