• Clinical Shift Schedule: Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

• Open -ended contract based on coverage needs

PATIENT INFORMATION

• Patient Demographics: All ages

• Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 40,000 combined annual ED visits between main hospital and freestanding ED

• Admissions: Yes

• Rounding: Included as part of ED coverage

• Phone Consults: As required

• Case Mix: Full -scope emergency medicine

FACILITY INFORMATION

• No. of Beds in Department: 146 hospital beds

• Trauma Level: Level III

• EMR System: Meditech

• Office Equipment Available: Standard emergency department equipment

• Specialty Backup Available: Physician coverage

• Support Staff Available: 24 -hour NP/PA coverage

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

• Cross -Credentialing Required: Yes, LewisGale Christiansburg Freestanding ED

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Not specified

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

• Emergency department procedures consistent with advanced practice emergency medicine coverage

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Licenses: Active Virginia NP or PA license required

• Board: Applicable national certification for NP or PA

• DEA: Active DEA required

• Certifications: Emergency medicine–related certifications per facility standards

• Experience: Emergency department experience required

• Other Qualifications: Must be willing to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to patients of all ages

• Cover emergency department shifts at both facilities as needed

• Manage patient flow and clinical decision -making in a Level III Trauma Center

• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary services

• Document all encounters accurately in Meditech EMR
