Job Overview:
AIMS Locum Tenens is hiring an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to provide critical care services within the Emergency Department at the Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center. The RN will assess, triage, and treat patients across all age groups in acute and urgent conditions, working in a high-intensity environment that demands quick decision-making and strong collaboration with emergency physicians and clinical teams.
General Duties:
- Work under the scope of privileges approved by MOMMC.
- Provide emergency nursing services in compliance with federal, DHA, and MTF policies.
Specific Duties:
- Triage, assess, and monitor patients presenting with diverse emergencies.
- Administer medications, fluids, and life-saving interventions per protocols.
- Assist with trauma care, cardiac arrests, strokes, and other critical cases.
- Monitor and interpret vital signs, EKGs, lab results, and imaging outcomes.
- Coordinate patient flow, care transitions, and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMRs.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and home care.
Qualifications:
Degree: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Education: Graduate of an NLNAC or CCNE-accredited institution.
Certification:
Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Preferred: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Must be certified through AHA or Red Cross
Experience:
- At least 2 years of full-time ER or trauma nursing experience
Licensure:
- Must hold a current, unrestricted RN license in any U.S. jurisdiction
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in trauma, critical care, and emergency response protocols
- Skilled in IV insertion, medication administration, and defibrillation
- Able to assess, intervene, and stabilize patients under pressure
- Effective communicator and strong team collaborator
- Competent in EHR systems and clinical documentation

Schedule:
- Emergency Room is a 24/7 operation (Sunday–Saturday)
- RN must be available for day, night, weekend, and overnight shifts
- At least 25% of contracted hours must be on overnight shifts
Overage Hours: Up to 210 per FTE annually
- Not required to work on-call but must be flexible with schedule
Physical Requirements:
- Must be capable of standing/walking for long hours and lifting/assisting patients during emergencies.
Immunization Requirement:
- Full immunizations, TB screening, and physical exam required
Security Requirement:
- Must pass federal background screening and base clearance
