Emergency Medicine Physician Opportunity – Danbury, Connecticut (60 miles from NYC)
Affiliated with Nuvance Health, Danbury Hospital is seeking an 0.75 FTE (30 hours week) Emergency Medicine Physician to be primarily based at Danbury Hospital with some coverage at New Milford Hospital in Danbury and New Milford, Connecticut, located about 60 miles northeast of New York City. Danbury Hospital’s Emergency Department is an accredited Level II Trauma Center, a Stroke Center and a Chest Pain Center, offering 24-hour interventional cardiology. We treat about 70,000 patients annually, with approximately 900 trauma cases. At New Milford Hospital, our ER treats 16,000 patients annually in our newly renovated department. Our team of 22 physicians and 14 physician assistants provide 24/7 coverage at both locations.
The ideal candidate will be board certified/eligible in Emergency Medicine. This is an employed position with a collegial and stable team. We offer a highly competitive total compensation package, excellent benefits, paid time off and allowance for CME and dues.

Danbury Hospital has 371 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, we are associated with University of Vermont College of Medicine, Yale University School of Medicine, Ross University School of Medicine and the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. Our employed Medical Practices includes 1000+ physicians and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout western Connecticut and eastern New York.
Danbury, Connecticut, located on the border of New York State, is about 60 miles northeast of New York City and 60 miles west of Hartford, CT. As part of the greater NY metropolitan area, the city of Danbury enjoys both proximity to New York City culture and access to a wide array of four-season recreational activities. The area has highly rated public and private schools. Boston, New York City, New Haven and Hartford are easily accessible via train or car.

Job Summary:
Provide a variety of clinical medical services to patients presenting to the Hospital's emergency department, including evaluation and management.
Job Requirements:
- MD or DO with successful completion of Emergency Medicine Residency
- CT State license, CSR and Federal Narcotic Use Registration (DEA)
- New Emergency Medicine Residency graduates as well as experienced Emergency Physicians are encouraged to apply.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Variable shifts, between 8 and 12 hours, with Nocturnists covering more than half of all night shifts.
- Current ACLS/ATLS/PALS required.

Salary range: $292,906 - $325,451 annually commensurate or relative to experience.
