Danbury Hospital, part of Nuvance Health is seeking a per diem Emergency Physician to be primarily based at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT located about 70 miles northeast of New York City.
Danbury Hospital’s Emergency Department is an accredited Level II Trauma Center, a Stroke Center and a Chest Pain Center, offering 24-hour interventional cardiology. We treat about 70,000 patients annually, with approximately 900 trauma cases. At New Milford Hospital, our ER treats 16,000 patients annually in our newly renovated department. Our team of 22 physicians and 14 physician assistants provide 24/7 coverage at both locations.
The ideal candidate will be board certified/eligible in Emergency Medicine. This is an employed position with a collegial and stable team. We offer a highly competitive hourly rate.

Danbury Hospital has 371 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, we are associated with University of Vermont College of Medicine, Yale University School of Medicine, Ross University School of Medicine and the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. Our employed Medical Practices includes 900+ physicians and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout western Connecticut and eastern New York.
Danbury, Connecticut, located on the border of New York State, is about 70 miles northeast of New York City and 60 miles west of Hartford, CT. As part of the greater NY metropolitan area, the city of Danbury enjoys both proximity to New York City culture and access to a wide array of outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, fishing and boating in state and regional parks and preserves. Boston, New York City, New Haven and Hartford are easily accessible via train or car.

Job Summary:
Provide a variety of clinical medical services to patients presenting to the Hospital's emergency department, including evaluation and management.
Job Requirements:
- MD or DO with successful completion of Emergency Medicine Residency
- CT State license, CSR and Federal Narcotic Use Registration (DEA)
- New Emergency Medicine Residency Graduates are encouraged to apply if considering a full-time position with us in the future.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Willing to work about 2 variable shifts per month as needed
- Current ACLS/ATLS/PALS required.
