Independent Living, Inc., a dynamic, multi-faceted disability services organization and a leader in the provision of peer services in the Hudson Valley is seeking to hire an Emergency Response Clinical Manager that possesses the following credentials:
Licensed Social Worker (LMSW or LCSW); Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC); Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT); Licensed Creative Arts Therapists; Licensed Occupational Therapist; or Registered Nurse.
This position will lead the team and respond, in collaboration with the New Windsor EMS, to calls related to behavioral health and substance use disorder; and provide counseling, harm reduction and connection to services/treatment for individuals and their circle of support. The goal is to reduce recidivism and provide individuals the tools and supports to prevent future crisis and pre-crisis situations while allowing them to remain well in the community.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise Emergency Response Peers and Clinician.
Coordinate the schedule and services for the EMS Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Crisis Response Team.
Participate in the interview process for new Emergency Response Team Members.
Represent Independent Living, Inc. (ILI) at internal and external stakeholder meetings.
Act as the lead liaison between the EMS personal and the ILI team.
Work directly in partnership with ILI staff as a team of first responders who respond to SUD and co-occurring disorder related emergency calls to support both the individuals that are in pre-crisis or crisis and their circle to support.
Remain on scene as the situation warrants with peer team member to provide support and connection.
Help families and individuals:
understand the progression of addiction
navigate insurance barriers and treatment systems
engage in individual advocacy by assisting individuals with SUD and co-occurring disorders in protecting and promoting their rights, resolving complaints, accessing services and navigating community supports of their choice.
Oversee and coordinate referrals to the Orange County Crisis Call Center for ongoing resources, services, and peer supports.
Coordinate referrals to Orange County Crisis Call Center for Mobile Response Team as warranted by the situation.
Actively participate in all meetings and training sessions required for ILI staff as well as those specific to the responsibilities of the position, transition and diversion.
Provide education and training about harm reduction strategies to the people residing with or supporting the individual experiencing the emergency.
Maintain a current and working knowledge of community resources available for individuals wishing to engage in additional treatment or services.
Educate individuals, families, and community resources about challenges, options, and resources with regard to persons with disabilities.
Assist individuals in accessing needed services and treatments.
Complete all reporting and record keeping as required including statistical reports by specified due dates.

PAY RATE:
$75,000/yr - $78,000/yr

Requirements
Must be a Licensed Professional of the Healing Arts (LPHA) this includes: Licensed Social Worker (LMSW or LCSW); Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC); Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT); Licensed Creative Arts Therapists; Licensed Occupational Therapist; or Registered Nurse.
Lived experience with substance use recovery either personally or through a family member or friend who has gone through recovery and be comfortable with self-disclosure as needed, a plus.
Must have a working knowledge of the recovery process and be willing to promote multi-pathways to recovery.
Minimum of one year of management/supervisory experience, required.
Must complete approved advocacy training programs within the first six (6) months of employment.
Strong data entry and computer software skills.
Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
Must have good time management skills and be self-directing, especially if there is any downtime.
Must possess a valid unrestricted driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
