Emergency Room RN

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Acute Care Emergency Room team. The ideal candidate will consistently deliver exceptional patient care and customer service while fostering a supportive and respectful environment for patients, families, visitors, and fellow healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver the highest standard of patient care and customer service with empathy, kindness, and respect.

• Create a compassionate and supportive environment by offering emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and their families.

• Assess and monitor patient conditions by recording symptoms, vital signs, and changes in status; administer medications and document care accurately.

• Modify care plans in response to patient needs and physician orders.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.

• Interpret diagnostic tests and contribute to care decisions based on patient conditions.

• Promote patient independence by educating patients and families on conditions, medications, treatments, and self-care techniques.

• Ensure quality care by adhering to therapeutic standards and adjusting care strategies as needed.

• Maintain clear, accurate, and timely documentation in patient records to support continuity of care.

• Communicate effectively across nursing teams regarding patient care actions, observations, and ongoing needs.

• Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of medical equipment; report malfunctions and assist with evaluations of new equipment and techniques.

• Delegate tasks and provide supervision to support personnel.

• Assist with patient examinations and treatments, and support admissions and discharge planning processes.

• Provide education to patients, families, and community groups on topics such as health promotion, disease prevention, and childbirth.

• Lead or contribute to infection control initiatives and advise staff on safety protocols.

• Support the development of healthcare staff through training and instruction of students and auxiliary personnel.

• Participate in nursing-related research and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications:

• Required Experience: Minimum 1 year of Acute Care Emergency Room experience.

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.

• Licensure:

  • Active RN license. If licensed in another compact state, must apply for a Florida RN license.

  • Candidates with less than 3 years of RN experience must take and pass the NCLEX in Florida for consideration.

• Certifications (must be obtained within 30 days of hire):

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
