We are actively hiring an
Emerging Technology Research Intern in Reston, VA. This is a full-time paid internship with up to 40 hours per week for a 12-week internship for Summer 2024. This position will accommodate 1-2 days per week working remotely.
Scope of WorkATS is tasked with researching and analyzing the ever-evolving Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) landscape and how these technologies may advance various client missions. Research results will be consolidated into a formal white paper, roadmap of recommendations, and an informational briefing of findings as they pertain to specific client needs.
The Emerging Technology Research Intern will support the Consulting and Analytics Division Manager and several key AI experts to collect and analyze emerging technologies and their application against a variety of technical processes. Examples of tasks to be performed by the intern include:
- Identifying reputable industry and academic leaders in various AI/ML fields and coordinating virtual or in-person meetings.
- Collecting publications against emerging technology and analyzing their potential impact against dozens of manual processes.
- Documenting and organizing research into easy to retrieve and analyze collections.
- Drafting sections of the final white paper, to possibly include generating supporting graphics or tables.
Required Education and Experience- 2+ years of college with an interest in data-related fields, such as data science, data engineering, and/or Artificial Intelligence
- Experience leading a research project and/or paper
- Basic understanding of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) data processes a plus
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (MS Word, PowerPoint, Sharepoint)
- US Citizenship required
