Job Description - Employee Development Consultant

First State Bank is searching for our next Employee Development Consultant.  The Consultant will provide instruction for front line retail banking employees and Branch Operations Managers. The Consultant also serves as the ambassador of First State Bank in onboarding most new employees and works alongside them in the first few days of employment. This individual truly believes in and understands the importance of exceptional customer service and is willing to always demonstrate that type of customer experience to external customers and coworkers.



Essential Functions:



  1. Develop an understanding of all aspects of Retail job functions so as to contribute effectively to the enhancement and maintenance of Retail Training platforms.

  2. Communicate in a positive manner to job applicants and trainees.

  3. Perform initial onboarding of all First State Bank employees.

  4. Conduct scheduled Teller and New Accounts training.

  5. Conduct training of Core Platform for all new employees customized to their specific job duties.

  6. Explain various processes involved in Retail job functions both verbally and in writing so the appropriate audience can understand.

  7. Adaptation of the training courses to accommodate various types of learning styles when teaching.

  8. Create effective solutions to challenges faced by customer-facing trainees.

  9. Provides the highest levels of quality service to customers while listening to them and finding the products to best fit their banking needs. When solving customer problems, will be friendly, professional and responsive to their situation, explain solutions and next steps while building rapport and trust. 

  10. Must have a strong understanding of the features and benefits of all bank products and be able to explain how each product may meet the needs of the customer. Identify opportunities to refer customers to other areas for more complex services as identified through conversation during interaction.

  11. Process transactions and open individual accounts as well as business accounts following bank procedures including CIP and Customer Due Diligence processes. Follow up with customers as needed by phone or by written contact.

  12. Maintain a professional appearance, as outlined in the Dress Code, a professional manner, and a neat and orderly work area at all times.


 


Additional Responsibilities:



  • Assist employees throughout the First State Bank organization with product knowledge questions.

  • Attend assigned training sessions and follow bank procedures and regulations.

  • Process transactions, deposits/withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, issue official bank checks by running teller window as needed.

  • Balance cash drawer within standards.


                      


Job Qualifications:



  • This position prefers a Bachelors or Associates Degree and requires a High School Diploma or a GED

  • Ability to present a friendly personality, positive attitude and a professional image

  • Prior banking experience, especially in Retail Banking is required

  • Proven ability to multi-task as well as maintain composure under pressure

  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service

  • Proven job experience that required above average written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to utilize the MS Office Suite of applications with limited assistance

  • Working knowledge of general equipment such as coin/currency counter, copy machine, telephone and fax

  • Must successfully complete in-house teller and new account training


  



Physical Requirements:


Generally good working conditions in a clean well lit environment.  Must be able to lift and move coin filled bags up to 25lbs.  May either sit or stand for long periods of time.
