Eaton\u2019s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Employee Health \u0026 Safety Technician 2nd at 1 Helen of Troy Drive in El Paso, TX.\n\nThe hourly rate for this position is $20.00 - $30.00 per hour. \nThis position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.\n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nThe EHS Technician will be responsible for essential environmental health and safety (EHS) actions and initiatives related to EHS systems, inspections, training, and records management.\n\n * Lead and assist with the implementation of MESH (Management System of Environmental, Safety and Health) and will utilize MESH tools to drive improvements by participating and co-leading MESH Teams.\n * Provide and/or facilitate EHS training as needed\n * Lead incident investigations and track/trend incident data for OSHA 300 logs.\n * Enter EHS data/corrective actions in the corporate reporting tool (MESH Prism) and produce data for monthly scorecards.\n * Perform Site Level and Workstation Risk Assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions \u0026 controls.\n * Work directly with MESH Element Owners/Champions to provide technical guidance and support to build organizational capability.\n * Support facility environmental performance systems, including wastewater permits and associated sampling requirements, solid waste, storm water, etc.\n * Support the powered industrial truck (PIT) program\n * Deploy EHS (Environment, Health \u0026 Safety) initiatives in support of a Zero Incident Culture\n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n * High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.\n * Minimum 1 year experience in an EHS role.\n * There is no relocation provided for this position. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the El Paso, TX facility.\n * Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc. \n\n\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n * Associates Degree in Environmental Health \u0026 Safety from an accredited institution\n * Experience with storm water, spill prevention control, waste management, air permits, Emergency Response, and EPCRA\n * Minimum 1 year experience in lockout/tagout, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, process safety, and/or environmental compliance.\n\n\n\n## Skills:\n\nPOSITION CRITERIA:\n\n * Basic understanding of the Eaton Safety Process or ISO14001\n * Self-motivated / directed individual with well demonstrated written and verbal skills, along with great organizational and cross-functional collaboration skills.\n * Effective meeting facilitation skills and demonstrated ability to present to large audiences.\n * Attention to detail and thorough analytical skills\n * Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime in support of business needs and special projects\n * Ability to manage conflict while maintaining a professional posture\n * Ability to influence without authority\n * Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)\n * Professional presentation skills\n\n\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
