Job Description - Employee Relations Program Specialist

Description

Job Summary:

The Employee Relations Program Specialist is a highly collaborative human resources role and is responsible for the administration of Sunward’s employee relations program by creating and delivering people practices that develop and maintain positive working relationships and reinforce our Culture of Accountability. The person in this position will work closely with line managers and employees to address and resolve complex or difficult employee relations issues through investigations, environmental assessments, corrective actions, and leadership coaching. 

This position will enhance our performance management program by fostering positive employee relations and supporting Sunward’s cultural initiatives.

Essential Job Duties:

Main responsibilities: 

  • Assists management with performance concerns, disciplinary action and conflict management issues under the general direction and guidance of HR leadership.
  • Performs assessments or investigations and provides analysis, recommendations and supports the implementation of agreed upon resolutions. 
  • Supports management in addressing trends found through progressive discipline and investigations by providing insights and consultation to management for ways to address them.
  • Produces and manages reporting metrics and analytics for employee relations concerns and presents reports as requested.
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO, affirmative action, labor relations and human resources.
  • Provides coaching, training and education to leaders on employee relations process and policy.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or required. 

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills in managing multiple initiatives.   
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  
  • Strong adaptability with technology, including digital communication tools and evolving software platforms.

Knowledge: 

  • Demonstrated multi-disciplinary knowledge of human resource principles and best practices

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum six years’ experience Human Resources with experience in handling employee relations case
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree or certification in human resources, business administration, or related field, or more than six years of related experience. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Periodic travel
  • Must be able to lift 5 pounds at times.
