Job Coach

• Pay: $15 – $17 per hour (depending on shift and experience)
• Shift: Typically Monday - Friday (Weekends as needed), 25/32 hours per week

Responsibilities:

As an Employment Coach at Emory Valley Center, you play a vital role in empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to find, learn, and thrive in meaningful community employment. You're not just helping someone land a job — you're helping them gain confidence, build independence, and discover a sense of purpose.

Success in this role requires patience, a supportive and encouraging attitude, and a genuine passion for helping others succeed. You’ll need to be a strong communicator and relationship-builder, comfortable working closely with both individuals and local employers. Being organized, self-motivated, and adaptable to a flexible schedule is key. Most importantly, you'll be a creative problem-solver who sees the potential in everyone and is committed to helping them reach it.

• Work one-on-one with individuals to identify their interests, strengths, and employment goals
• Assist with job searching, applications, resumes, and preparing for interviews
• Build relationships with local employers to identify potential job opportunities
• Help match individuals with jobs that align with their skills and preferences
• Provide on-site job coaching during the initial phase of employment
• Teach workplace skills such as time management, communication, and task performance
• Offer support in learning job duties and adjusting to the workplace environment
• Help individuals problem-solve challenges that may arise on the job
• Maintain regular contact with employers and employees to ensure job success
• Offer follow-up coaching as needed to promote job retention and satisfaction
• Advocate for accommodations or supports when appropriate
• Work closely with families, case managers, and vocational rehab to coordinate services
• Maintain accurate, timely records of services provided and individual progress
• Complete required reports for funding sources, program goals, and compliance
• Track employment outcomes and ensure program requirements are met
