Job Description - Employment, Immigration, and Labor Associate Attorney

The Position


Wilson Elser is seeking a skilled and motivated Employment, Immigration, and Labor Associate Attorney to join our growing litigation team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a nationally recognized firm and provide comprehensive legal counsel to a diverse range of clients across public and private sectors in employment, education, and labor law.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Independently manage a litigation caseload, from inception through resolution.

  • Represent employers, private schools, and other institutions in a wide variety of employment, labor, and education law matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract and collective bargaining issues.

  • Provide day-to-day legal advice and training to clients on compliance with federal, state, and local employment, education and labor laws.

  • Collaborate with Partners and senior attorneys on complex matters and trial preparation.

  • Regularly handle court appearances, mediations and depositions

  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case updates and strategic guidance.


Qualifications



  • JD from an accredited law school

  • Admitted to practice in the State of New York

  • Admitted to practice in the SDNY and EDNY

  • 3+ years of legal experience with a focus on employment, immigration, and/or education law and litigation

  • Experience handling discrimination and wage and hour claim under federal, state, and local laws

  • Knowledge of Immigration practice and experience processing PERM, H1b and other visas

  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
