Auberle Seeks: Employment Institute Business Development Manager
As a dynamic, faith-based nonprofit, Auberle builds strong individuals, families, and communities through more than two dozen holistic programs that reach 10 counties across Western Pennsylvania. We serve more than 4,000 individuals and families each year through five core program areas: Workforce Development, Housing, Young Adult Services, Foster Care, and Behavioral Health. Our staff is comprised of more than 200 passionate individuals who are dedicated to finding innovative solutions to our community's most difficult problems. The quality of Auberle's services has been repeatedly recognized both regionally and nationally many times. We were named national Agency of the Year by the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities. The Aramark Building Community Organizational Leadership Award was for "great leadership, strategic governance, a focus on equity, a culture of partnership and innovation, and a commitment to values-based advocacy," (Aramark press release). We have received a host of regional awards for excellence, leadership, innovation, and sustainability. We were selected as a Top Nonprofit Workplace in the nation by Energage and 11 years in a row as a Top Work Place by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, all based on confidential staff surveys.
Position Overview: The Employment Institute, Auberle's nationally recognized workforce development program, partners with over 260 regional businesses to place unemployed and underemployed individuals in career track employment with benefits, impacting future generations. The Employment Institute Business Development Manager is a mission-focused, strategic, and business-minded leader within the Employment Institute who understands workforce development and can partner with businesses to link unemployed and underemployed individuals to real, existing job opportunities across Western Pennsylvania. The Employment Institute Business Development Manager has a proven business acumen to achieve both job placement and retention outcomes while strategically growing our unique program model according to workforce needs. The Manager possesses skills in writing and research and can advise the direction and growth of this important Auberle initiative. Other key objectives of the position include:
Business Acumen: ability to analyze economic data and think strategically about future industry trends and high priority occupations and incorporate those trends into plans; Cultivate new relationships with employers and stakeholders to increase network of employment pipelines; Create training opportunities for program participants and expand programming geographically; Market program to encourage participant enrollment.
Writing and Research: ability to organize, analyze and report key data points; ability to utilize data to make programmatic decisions; strong writing skills that can contribute to RFP research and writing processes; project management skills.
Leadership and Organization: A team builder and team player with the ability to connect to staff and participants alike to achieve outcomes and excel.
Action Oriented: enjoys hard work and looking for challenges; ability to adjust to change; decision making capacity; ability to work with diverse groups of stakeholders including participants with barriers to employment.
Mission Driven: promote the Mission and Values of Auberle; Demonstrate an understanding of and respect for all participants, staff, and partners.
Principal Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree Preferred
ACT 33/34 and FBI Clearances
Pre-employment drug screening and ongoing random drug screens
Valid PA driver's license
