Location: Chicago, IL. The position begins in office for approximately the first 90 days to support onboarding and team integration, then transitions to a hybrid schedule with a few days per week in the office and additional flexibility to work from home.
Note: Candidates must be actively licensed to practice law in Illinois and have both 3+ years of litigation experience and 3+ years of employment law experience. Strong litigation writing, client counseling, civil procedure, strategic thinking, and independent case management skills are essential.

Job Description
- Manage employment litigation matters from strategy through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other litigation documents.
- Analyze complex legal and factual issues and develop practical case strategies.
- Advise clients on employment disputes, workplace issues, agreements, policies, and risk management.
- Handle matters involving discrimination, restrictive covenants, executive compensation, severance, and other employment issues.
- Draft and review employment agreements, workplace policies, and related documents.
- Negotiate agreements, settlements, and resolutions on behalf of clients.
- Counsel clients through complex and sometimes sensitive workplace disputes.
- Collaborate closely with attorneys and professional staff on litigation and advisory matters.
- Potentially mentor and support less experienced attorneys and staff.
- Maintain strong client relationships through responsive, strategic, and professional communication.
- Meet an annual expectation of approximately 1,500 billable hours.
Qualifications
- Active Illinois Bar license required.
- 3+ years of litigation experience required.
- 3+ years of employment law experience required.
- Strong understanding of civil procedure and litigation practice.
- Excellent legal research, writing, analysis, and advocacy skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage clients and provide practical legal counsel.
- Strong negotiation, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently manage matters while collaborating effectively with a team.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
