Job Description - Employment Services Director

ABOUT THE JOB:

The Employment Services Director is responsible for supervising Employment Support

Professionals in the assigned region, including their daily work and activities as well as the

operational excellence of the overall program, working in partnership and under the direction

of the Regional Director. The Employment Services Director ensures all Vista Care policies

and procedures are being followed as well as remains in compliance with Federal, State, and

local rules and regulations.

JOB TYPE: Full Time, Salary; $70,000/year

LOCATION: Remote

RESPONSIBLE TO:

The Employment Services Director reports to the Regional Director.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In partnership and collaboration with the Regional Director, supervises the operations of the employment program and the employment support professionals by mentoring, coaching, auditing, and assisting in scheduling staff.
  • Completes performance reviews and corrective actions with guidance from the Regional Director and in partnership with the HR team.
  • Implements employee retention and engagement strategies in partnership with the People Division.
  • Assists with the recruitment and hiring of new team members with oversight by the Regional Director and in partnership with the recruiting team.
  • Works in partnership with the Learning, Development, and Engagement team on staff training plans and competencies, and is responsible for playing an active role in the training process.
  • Completes monthly billing and other reports as requested.
  • Required to attend mandatory state, regional, or national team meetings. Required to complete mandatory training, including all essential learning training.
  • Required to represent the agency in a professional manner in the community.
  • Remains knowledgeable on Department of Labor laws and regulations, OSHA,
  • Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, and other pertinent Federal, State and local laws and regulations.
  • Ensures records and documentation are in compliance.
  • In collaboration with Regional Director and other organizational leaders, designs and implements training opportunities for people supported to gain skills needed to secure and maintain work placement.
  • Attends and participates in the development of ISPs as invited.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the rights and responsibilities of the people supported.
  • Coordinates activities such as developing job skills, evaluating work progress, assessing skills and abilities, job coaching, job placement, and other employment-related practices under the DVR vendorship or Waiver service lines.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding agency information, including any information regarding the people supported.
  • Works cooperatively with employers in securing and maintaining supported work placements.
  • Maintains an active working relationship with rehab agencies and other entities that assist the people supported in continuing program eligibility and achieving employment objectives.
  • Oversees continued eligibility for and utilization of appropriate services and funding sources necessary to meet the person’s needs.
  • Remains knowledgeable on available programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required.
  • A college, or university degree or the equivalent is required. Social services or similar fields preferred. However, five (5) or more years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • CPR certification preferred.
  • Completion of CPI training preferred or within 30 days of hire.
  • Completion of CPI Facilitator Training Certification preferred, or within 6 months of hire (High Behavioral Only).
  • Completion of Medication Administration training preferred, or within 60 days of hire (WI only).
  • AFH/CBRF certification preferred (WI only).
  • Ability to successfully complete all federal, state, and local requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to lift at least fifty (50) pounds on a routine basis to assist with individuals supported.
  • Ability to bend, twist, lift, reach and assist individuals supported with their movements including their ability to stand up.
  • Variable weekly hours to support operational needs including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays including being responsible to be on-call for assigned program(s) direct reports.
  • Required to work in residential settings.
  • Successful applicant(s) will be required to travel to the various programs as assigned under the direction of Vista Care leadership which may include across various states.
