Flexibility & Adaptability – Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, or nights, to accommodate the needs of the clients and the business.
Relationship-Building Skills – Ability to develop and maintain relationships with job seekers, employers, and community partners, ensuring successful job placements and long-term employment success.
Communication Skills – Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with a variety of stakeholders, including job seekers, employers, and team members.
Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking – Ability to assess challenges and create innovative solutions to support job seekers in overcoming barriers to employment.
Organizational & Time Management Skills – Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met and clients receive the attention they need.

As an Employment Specialist, you will:
- Collaborate as part of a dedicated team to help individuals with disabilities shape and achieve their career goals.
- Meet with Job Seekers to guide them through the job development process, providing valuable insights into potential job opportunities and establishing clear job development targets.
- Support Job Seekers in creating compelling resumes, navigating the application process, enhancing interviewing skills, and engaging in other key job preparedness activities.
- Provide comprehensive skills development training to help Job Seekers succeed in the workforce.
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with local businesses to identify potential employers who align with our Job Seekers’ skills and interests.
- Proactively reach out to and maintain regular communication with both current and potential employers to foster long-term partnerships.
- Act as a liaison between employers and Job Seekers after job placement to ensure a smooth transition and successful employment outcomes.
- Assist Job Seekers in securing meaningful, long-term employment opportunities that match their interests and abilities, while also providing ongoing support to ensure job retention.
- Make a lasting impact on individuals’ futures by empowering them to achieve success in the workplace.
