EMS Station Manager

Summary
The Station Manager is responsible for the overall management and operational oversight of a designated Emergency Medical Services (EMS) station. This role combines business acumen with operational leadership to ensure efficient and high-quality pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency services. The manager will lead a team of EMT's and paramedics, oversee all station logistics, and implement policies to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• 
  Operational Management:
  
  
  
  • Supervise and lead all station staff, including EMT's and paramedics, and manage daily station activities to ensure operational efficiency.
  
  
  • Oversee scheduling, fleet readiness, and resource allocation to meet service demands.
  
  
  • Ensure compliance with all operational procedures, safety protocols, and company policies.
  
  
  • Review and analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
  
  
  
  


• 
  Personnel Management:
  
  
  
  
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and implement disciplinary action when necessary.
  
  
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes team cohesion and high morale.
  
  
  • Serve as a mentor to staff, assisting with professional development and training opportunities.
  
  
  
  


• 
  Business and Administrative:
  
  
  
  • Manage the station's budget, control costs, and track expenditures.
  
  
  • Prepare administrative and operational reports for senior leadership.
  
  
  • Work with accounting and billing departments to ensure accurate and timely documentation for financial purposes.
  
  
  • Coordinate with other EMS stations and departments to ensure consistent, system-wide operations.
  
  
  
  


• 
  Community and Compliance:
  
  
  
  • Act as a liaison between the station and local government, hospital partners, and the public.
  
  
  • Ensure all station operations are in compliance with regulatory agencies, such as state EMS boards and the Department of Health.
  
  
  • Lead quality assurance and continuous quality improvement (QA/QI) initiatives for the station.
  
  
  • Manage risk and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel. 
  
  
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred. 


• Five years of experience in the EMS field, with at least two years in a supervisory or management role.


• Valid Paramedic certification or other relevant healthcare certification (Advanced EMT may be considered).


• Demonstrated experience in financial management, including budget oversight.


• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
