Sentara Martha Jefferson hospital is hiring an Endoscopy Technician for a Full Time- Day shift position in Charlottesville, VA. Schedule is 4- 9 hour shifts. Call 1 day per week and every 4th weekend 4p to 6a

About the department:

The Endoscopy Lab at Sentara Martha Jefferson sees an average of 16-18 patients per day and is open from 600AM to 430PM. Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital’s Digestive Care Center’s board-certified gastroenterologists, including two advanced Gastroenterology specialists and a colorectal surgeon, treat a variety of diseases affecting the gallbladder, liver, mouth, stomach, intestines, pancreas, colon, and esophagus.

The Endoscopy Technician assists with the patient care in the Endoscopy Department. They will be familiar with gastrointestinal and pulmonary diseases and assists during endoscopic procedures. The endoscopy tech is responsible for the preparation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment and supplies. This position functions under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse.

Education

• High School Graduate or equivalent required

• Training from vocational or military preferred

Certification/Licensure

• BLS required within 90 days of hire

Experience

• Patient Care Experience Required

• Endoscopy experience preferred

• Sterile Processing experience preferred

• 2 years of Procedural Experience preferred
