An End-User Computing (EUC) Engineer designs, manages, and supports the hardware, software, and virtual environments employees use to do their jobs. They ensure endpoint devices (laptops, desktops, mobiles) and virtual desktop infrastructures (VDI) remain secure, updated, and optimized for seamless daily operations.

Core Roles and Responsibilities

• Endpoint & Device Management: Deploying, configuring, and maintaining physical and virtual devices. This includes operating system imaging, patch management, and hardware lifecycle refreshes.

• Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI): Architecting and managing virtual environments to enable secure, "work-from-anywhere" mobility and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) programs.

• Technical Support: Acting as the escalation point for complex hardware/software issues that the admin levels cannot resolve.

• Software Deployment: Packaging and distributing enterprise applications, updates, and productivity tools across the organization.

• Security & Compliance: Enforcing security policies, managing antivirus software, deploying encryption, and ensuring corporate data is protected on all endpoints.

• Identity & Access Management: Integrating end-user tools with directories to control user access, permissions, and single sign-on (SSO) capabilities.

Key Technologies Handled

EUC Engineers rely on a specific stack of enterprise tools to manage fleets of devices and user experiences:

• Endpoint Management: Microsoft Intune, ManageEngine Endpoint Central, Nerdio.

• Virtualization Platforms: Azure Virtual Desktops (AVD) (Persistent and Non-Persistent).

• Endpoint Patching: ManageEngine Endpoint Central.

• Identity & Access: Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) and Active Directory.
