As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for providing professional dental hygiene services to patients under the supervision of a licensed dentist. Your primary duties will include performing dental cleanings, scaling and root planing procedures, and applying fluoride treatments.

You will also conduct oral health assessments, take dental x-rays, and educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques. Additionally, you will assist the dentist during dental procedures and maintain accurate patient records.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform dental cleanings and oral examinations to assess patients' oral health.
2. Administer fluoride treatments and apply dental sealants as necessary.
3. Conduct scaling and root planing procedures to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
4. Take dental x-rays and develop them for diagnostic purposes.
5. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and provide personalized oral health advice.
6. Assist the dentist during dental procedures, such as fillings or extractions.
7. Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories as needed.
8. Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols.
9. Collaborate with other members of the dental team to ensure high-quality patient care.
10. Stay updated on the latest advancements in dental hygiene practices and attend continuing education courses as required.

Qualifications:

1. Completion of an accredited dental hygiene program and possession of a valid dental hygiene license.
2. Excellent knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, techniques, and equipment.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and colleagues.
4. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate patient records.
5. Proficiency in taking dental x-rays and conducting oral health assessments.
6. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dental environment while prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
7. Commitment to maintaining infection control and sterilization standards in the dental office.
8. Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.

Office/Working Hours (34 hrs/week - negotiable):

• M, T, Th 8:30-5
• F 8-1 
• Wednesdays Off
