Job Description - Enfermera en Estados Unidos

The Nurse works directly with nursing home residents
and plays an essential role in supporting residents with their daily care needs
while ensuring their safety, dignity, and comfort. This is a hands -on
healthcare position that requires compassion, patience, attention to detail,
and the ability to work in a fast -paced environment. The Nurse works under the
supervision of licensed nurses and assists residents with activities of daily
living while monitoring and reporting any changes in condition.

Job duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist residents with daily personal care
    activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene,
    and eating.

  • Help residents safely get in and out of bed,
    wheelchairs, and chairs.

  • Assist residents with walking, repositioning,
    transfers, and mobility using gait belts, lifts, wheelchairs, or transfer
    equipment when needed.

  • Provide compassionate and respectful care while
    maintaining resident dignity and privacy at all times.

  • Observe residents for changes in physical,
    emotional, or mental condition and report concerns immediately to the
    nurse.

  • Answer resident call lights and respond promptly
    to resident requests and needs.

  • Assist residents in attending meals, activities,
    therapy sessions, and appointments within the facility.

  • Make beds, maintain clean resident rooms, and
    assist in maintaining a safe and organized environment.

  • Help prevent falls and maintain resident safety
    protocols.

  • Support infection control and sanitation
    procedures according to facility and healthcare standards.

  • Assist with meal setup, feeding assistance,
    hydration, and monitoring food and fluid intake.

  • Provide emotional support and companionship to
    residents and families.

  • Accurately document care provided in the
    facility’s electronic charting system, such as PointClickCare (PCC).

  • Record daily care activities including bathing,
    toileting, repositioning, transfers, meal intake, behaviors, mobility
    assistance, and other resident care tasks.

  • Work closely with nurses and other healthcare
    team members to ensure continuity of care.

  • Participate in facility training, onboarding,
    safety programs, and continuing education requirements.

  • Follow all facility policies, HIPAA regulations,
    and resident rights standards.

  • Maintain professionalism, attendance, and
    teamwork throughout all assigned shifts.

 

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • This position is performed primarily on the
    nursing unit and involves direct resident care throughout the shift.

  • The role requires standing, walking, bending,
    lifting, pushing wheelchairs, and assisting residents for extended periods
    of time.

  • The CNA must be able to safely assist residents
    with mobility and transfers.

  • Weekend, holiday, evening, and overtime shifts
    may be required depending on facility needs.

  • The work environment may be physically and
    emotionally demanding and requires the ability to remain calm and
    professional under pressure.

 

Qualifications
and Requirements

  • Required to process the Active CNA (Certified
    Nursing Assistant) certification required.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of related experience
    preferred.

  • Basic English communication skills required.
  • Previous experience in nursing homes, long -term
    care, rehabilitation, assisted living, or healthcare settings preferred.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow
    nursing instructions.

  • Basic computer skills required for electronic
    documentation systems.

  • Compassionate, dependable, and resident -focused
    attitude required.

Requirements

  • U.S., Mexican or Canadian passport
  • Degree in nursing (Titulado)
  • Willing to take the NCLEX
  • Fluency in English
