Job Description - Engagement, Culture and Fellowship Manager

What We Can Achieve Together:

The Engagement, Culture and Fellowship Manager partners with the Director of Finance and Operations to provide operational and cultural support for the Colorado Business Unit.  This role advances Colorado’s staff engagement and culture strategy by coordinating and implementing staff engagement activities, including all-staff meetings, retreats, and volunteer staff committees. They also oversee key employee experience functions such as employee onboarding, engagement and excellence, and professional development.  Additionally, they serve as the primary manager for the Colorado Conservation Fellowship Program, a revolving two-year program designed to engage early-career professionals in conservation careers.  Through these responsibilities, they help foster a connected and inclusive workplace and promote positive engagement experiences for all staff.

In this role, you will support and advance organizational excellence across our business unit with a strong focus on staff engagement, culture, and professional development. You’ll work closely with the Director of Finance and Operations to strengthen engagement practices, enhance onboarding and performance excellence, and champion capacity‑building efforts for staff and leaders. You will lead the planning and execution of key engagement initiatives, from all‑staff meetings to retreats and culture‑building events, while promoting cross‑team collaboration and sharing effective engagement strategies across the division.

You will also serve as a resource for staff on culture‑related topics and play a central role in volunteer staff committees, helping facilitate communication, and an inclusive, connected workplace experience. As the Youth Safety Coordinator, you will ensure compliance with TNC’s policies and guidelines for engaging with youth.

Another major focus area of this position is serving as the Conservation Fellowship Manager, where you will be the primary liaison for the Colorado Conservation Fellowship Program. You will support the full Fellowship experience, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, mentorship coordination, leadership development and networking opportunities alongside internal partners. You’ll track participant progress, report on program outcomes, and maintain consistent communication loops between Fellows, supervisors, and partners. You’ll also collaborate across the division to exchange best practices and help ensure the program is aligned with TNC’s broader Fellowship goals. Additionally, you will craft compelling external‑facing messaging to highlight the impact of the program and celebrate the achievements of its participants.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience or equivalent combination.

  • Experience supervising full-time, part-time or seasonal employees, including direct oversight of work, coaching and development.

  • Experience generating reports and analyzing and interpreting data.

  • Experience managing and implementing multiple projects.

  • Experience with business process analysis and/or improvement.

  • Experience with current technology in relevant field.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experiences are appreciated;

  • Ability to implement complex processes.

  • Ability to use existing technology to achieve desired results.

  • Demonstrated experience using diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships and motivate staff.

  • Experience coordinating projects.

  • Experience interpreting guidelines to achieve desired results.

  • Knowledge of current trends in the specific field.

  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • Successful experience implementing strategic program goals.

Salary Information:

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $76,000– $81,000. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
