The Ministry Development Coordinator advances the mission of Round Lake Christian Camp by connecting it to its ministry partners, providing spiritual leadership to our programming, and shepherding the Round Lake staff.
This position will prioritize developing and maintaining church relationships with approximately 100 partner churches and helping them connect with and benefit from Round Lake’s ministry. In addition, the Ministry Development Coordinator will develop resources, build relationships, and coordinate events to help with the spiritual growth of both the camp and the employees who work here.
This position reports directly to the Management Team and collaborates with them on goals, communication strategies, and alignment with the mission, vision, and goals of Round Lake Christian Camp.

Flexibility is essential as this position involves evenings and weekends to meet with church leaders, attend events, and host development functions. The Coordinator will spend time both onsite at camp and offsite visiting churches and ministry partners. The job can be hybrid remote, but the candidate is expected to be on campus when needed. The actual schedule will be coordinated with the management team. Days off may vary depending on weekend or evening ministry commitments.
Responsibilities
Church Engagement (Approximately 60%)
Church engagement will help Round Lake develop deeper relationships with its supporting churches and will encompass three primary tasks.
Cultivate and strengthen relationships with active churches
Aim for approximately 12-15 Sunday Morning Visits throughout the year (key priority in Feb-April)
Vacation Bible School mission representative
Regular contact with ministers, mission committees, and other key contributors to share camp updates
Develop and share opportunities for church volunteers to engage with camp ministry
Serve as the ambassador between Round Lake and supporting churches, offering encouragement, resources, and programming as needed
Reconnect with non-active churches
Identify approximately 4-6 inactive or under-engaged churches each year and pursue intentional reconnection with the churches or staff.
Evaluate the needs of these churches and how Round Lake might be able to partner with them
Connect these churches with other congregations or Round Lake resources that might re-engage them
When appropriate, champion new programming (or changes to current programming) that might benefit these churches
Oversee Church Communication
Coordinate with the Management Team and Trustees to create and distribute Ministry Impact Reports
Represent Round Lake at conferences and other ministry events
Coordinate with the communications staff to ensure our partner church's needs are being met
As a spiritual leader at Round Lake, the Ministry Development Coordinator will help grow the spiritual impact of the camp for its employees and programming
Spiritual Leadership for Programming
Create spiritual resources (prayer guides, devotional materials, etc.) to be used for camp programs
Cultivate deep relationships with program deans to help them foster spiritual depth during camp sessions
Be an active participant at director-led programming. They will support and serve the deans as needed at each program (ideally, they will be physically present for a minimum of three days a week during the summer).
When appropriate, train and mentor new program deans
Spiritual Leadership for Employees
Coordinate with the Management Team to provide regular devotions and spiritual direction for staff
Develop and oversee an intentional discipleship program for summer staff
Provide pastoral care for year-round staff as needed.
Serve as a resource for crisis events and counselling.
General Ministry Support
Partner with Camp Directors to ensure area churches/deans receive information and support in a consistent and timely manner
Assist other departments as needed to further the mission of the camp.
Participate in staff meetings, retreats, and ministry planning sessions.
Qualifications
A dedicated follower of Christ, active in a church body, committed to personal spiritual growth, and daily living above reproach.
Highly relational and able to connect with multiple generations
Excellent communicator (both written and oral)
Organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively
Naturally creative problem solver ready to tackle church relations as they change over time.
Ordained by the Church of Christ/Christian Churches or have at least 5 years of experience in Ministry Leadership at a Round Lake partner church.
Bachelor’s degree in ministry, communications, or a related field is preferred.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, Civi CRM, QuickBooks will be required (or have the ability to learn).
Skills in video editing, graphic design, and social media management are preferred (or have the ability to learn).
