- Position requires the person to be 100% onsite. (not a hybrid position)
- expert in CANalyzer/ vehicle CAN communication
- ETAS/INCA experience
- Past experience working on hybrid or Electric vehicle architecture
- Looking for an experienced person - 5 + years experience required.
- Driving Required: the engineer will be working on Stellantis vehicles and required to drive them.
- Amount of travel, if so where:
- expecting 0 - 10% or even less.
- CTC ( Auburn Hills - Pilot) - Primary work location
- CPG ( Chelsea proving grounds) - As needed ( 1-2 times a month)
- Windsor assembly plant ( Canada) - Occasionally if build requires. ( expecting 3-4 times a year)
The Pilot build (Proto build) Calibration Engineer is responsible for performing & coordinating propulsion system calibration (MCP/EVCU) debugging & investigating calibration issues on pre-production vehicles. The scope of responsibility spans the full capability of the integrated controls & ePT system hardware of the core BEV PRS modules (supervisory controller, electric motor controller(s) and integrated charging module controller).
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related degree
- Expertise with Automotive CAN communication.
- Basic understanding of Power Electronics, Hybrid Vehicle Architecture and Power flow
- Prior intern experience in the area of powertrain development, Propulsion system controls and/or calibration.
- English: Advanced
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Teams)
- Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Good teamwork skills and ability to work independently
Preferred Requirements:
- Knowledge of statistics and statistical methods
- Knowledge of software and equipment for engine calibration, MATLAB, measurement and analysis (Inca-Etas / Horiba / Vector)
