Engineer I - with Growth Opportunities

POSITION SUMMARY

This is an entry-level engineering role; responsible for day to day tasks that primarily focus on the planning and execution of test programs. Day to day activities are primarily defined by Project Management and execution of Sales Marketing activities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

Project Management Role:

• Actively seeks out opportunities to gather, process and retain knowledge of the following: testing specifications related to our services, material attributes including methods and equipment used to generate properties, and best laboratory practices by routinely being present and engaged with technicians on the testing equipment.
• Responds to incoming proposals by researching and developing quotations.
• Works with internal and external clients to establish mutual expectations with regard to a program’s cost, technical scope, schedule milestones and communication plan.
• Develops and provide internal communications supporting program goals.
• Advocates on behalf of our clients. Gain insights that evolve our services to meet their growing needs.
• Evaluates risk mitigation opportunities and develop contingency plans for events that can negatively impact services to clients.
• Compiles data and test results into formal reports while analyzing data for accuracy and continuity.
• Owns project financial matters by reviewing contracts, setting program budgets, processing all invoicing activities and produce periodic fiscal summaries and status updates.
• Oversees project closure process by ensuring all data has been formally reported and delivered, material has been shipped, and invoices processed. Completes post program review looking for improvement opportunities.
• Owns and drives process improvement tasks designed to broaden and elevate the value of our services.

Sales & Marketing Role:

• Requires a working knowledge of our capabilities and assists in client meetings.
• Interacts with buyers and engineers on pre-sale activities.
• Learns essentials for building and strengthening relationships with multiple buying influences in the customer’s organization including, materials and process engineers, program managers, and buyers.
• Maintains outlook perspectives with client needs, competition and industry trends in support of strategic sales and marketing plans.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 0-1 years experience (entry level)
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel

• Ability to relate to topics which require acute understanding or specialized knowledge.

• Ability to pay meticulous attention to all aspects of a situation or task.

• Maximum weight lifting requirement is 50lbs.

• Standing to sitting ratio is 80/20, respectively.
