Engineer, Sales I

Description

Metaltek's Estimating Engineers are responsible for developing accurate and thorough estimates of costs and lead times to support the creation of quotes for our customers. Through the use of computer system resources and input from field sales, sales, manufacturing and metallurgical engineers and manufacturing staff, the Estimating Engineer builds estimates for the manufacture of our custom-made, high-end application castings. Estimates incorporate material costs as well as all manufacturing activities including casting, heat treating, machining and quality assurance activities to produce castings to customer specifications. Estimates may also include third-party processing such as outside machining or non-destructive testing.

Requirements

A degree in business, engineering or materials technology and/or experience in the metals manufacturing industry are preferred. Excellent communication and computer skills, project management experience and strong technical aptitude are required. Actual estimating experience in a foundry, machining or other metals manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
