Job Description: Senior EngineerCandidate will be part of the System Test Team which is responsible for testing system level functionality, protocol compliance, performance measurement of Qualcomms wireless connectivity solutions (Wi-Fi access points and clients).The candidate will be involved in end to end protocol, functionality, performance, physical layer, RF, system optimization validation of wireless connectivity solutions. The candidate will closely work with the system engineers, software and hardware engineers, RFA engineers and other members of the system integration and testing group.

Typical tasks comprise test case development, execution - under a diverse collection of operational scenarios, data analysis, results' interpretation and reporting, competitive analysis, issue debugging, enhancement and automation of test procedures as well as analysis tools - with an end goal of system level feature completeness, stability & optimization. Additionally, will be reviewing standards based compliance and interoperability test plans, executing these tests against these wireless connectivity solutions, reporting issues through bug tracking system, providing debug and log collection and analysis, and working with various teams to root cause and resolve them

Responsibilities include:Working under close supervision with other team members with focus on completing test activities in a timely fashionUnderstands basic features of the system and collects basic information (e.g., logs, requirements) and identifies common errors related to systems testing.Collaborates with individuals inside own team to complete the team's work.Conducts log analyses to identify where an issue has occurred.Gathers, integrates, and interprets information from a variety of sources in order to troubleshoot issues.Assists with verifying that proposed solutions to identified issues accurately address and correct the problem.Detects bugs in the "system under test" and resolves issues using basic debugging approaches.Adapts to minor changes and setbacks in order to manage pressure and meet deadlines.Manages individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with close supervision.Communicates feedback about identified feature issues to software and systems teams.Regularly discusses testing problems with manager and/or peers to maintain open communication.Makes simple decisions as it pertains to basic feature issues associated with systems testing and follows up with tech lead if requirements are unclear/ambiguous.Communicates with tech leads on a project in order to verify the accuracy as well as adequate running time.Seeks opinions of others within own team about ways in which a problem can be addressed differently.

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical or related field.4+ years of TCP/UDP, IP Networking and other L2-L4 protocol knowledge or work experience4+ years experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etcSystem test experience testing networking and device driver type productsHands on experience with Linux and Windows systems and commands (including OS installation and configuration)Background on Communication Theory, Digital/Wireless Communication Systems

Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fieldExperience in WLAN testing (802.11 based products)Knowledge of OFDM/MIMO and RF engineeringFamiliarity with WLAN (802.11abgn, 11ac/11ax) protocolsStrong analytical and problem solving skillsGood script programming skill for test automation, with script languages like Perl/Python/TCL/shellExperience with Unix/Linux OS environments and Embedded variantsExcellent team communication, and interpersonal skills
