Engineer Structural - 2 / 3

This position is responsible for aiding the development of composite rocket motor cases and associated hardware. Candidate will contribute to both major design and analytical efforts based on knowledge and experience. Working at Northrop Grumman is more than just a paycheck. Bachelor's degree (Engineering or associated discipline) with 2 years of professional experience - OR - Master's degree with 0 years of professional experience. Ability to communicate technical content through email, phone, in-person and group settings Ability to organize and catalog information and documentation Bachelor's degree (Engineering or associated discipline) with 5 years of professional experience - OR - Master's degree with 3 years of professional experience - OR - PhD with 1 year of professional experience. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance 5 years of experience in relevant engineering field of manufacturing, design, or analysis Strong understanding of solid mechanics principles Strong understanding of classical mechanics principles Ability to communicate technical content through email, phone, in-person and group settings Ability to organize and catalog information and documentation Master's degree in mechanical engineering or associated discipline Strong understanding of solid rocket motor system design, development, and manufacturing. Understanding of composite laminate plate theory (CLT) Structures design experience with composite and metallic materials.
