  DoubleTree by Hilton Downtown South Bend is seeking an experienced and hands-on Engineering Supervisor to help lead our Engineering Department. Our recently renovated 293-room full-service hotel features over 15,000 square feet of meeting space, multiple food & beverage outlets, an indoor pool, and a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences.

  
  

  This position is ideal for someone who enjoys leading by example, solving problems, and ensuring our hotel remains safe, efficient, and well-maintained.

  
  

  What You'll Do

  
  
  
  
  • Supervise and support the daily operations of the Engineering team.
  
  
  • Assign work orders, prioritize projects, and ensure timely completion.
  
  
  • Perform preventive maintenance throughout the hotel.
  
  
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and general building systems.
  
  
  • Respond to guest maintenance requests with urgency and professionalism.
  
  
  • Assist the Chief Engineer with scheduling, inventory, purchasing, and departmental organization.
  
  
  • Ensure compliance with Hilton brand standards, OSHA regulations, life safety requirements, and company policies.
  
  
  • Train, coach, and develop Engineering team members.
  
  
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and preventive maintenance logs.
  
  
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to emergencies as needed.
  
  
  
  

  Qualifications

  
  
  
  
  • Previous hotel engineering experience required.
  
  
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  
  
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.
  
  
  • EPA Certification preferred.
  
  
  • Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills.
  
  
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  
  
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders, rooftops, and in mechanical spaces.
  
  
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays when necessary.
