Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nThe Mechanical Engineering Organization seeks an Engineer Systems Modeling \u0026 Simulation - Level 4/5 at the Chandler, AZ facility.\n\nEssential Functions- Loads \u0026 Dynamics:\n\n * Under limited supervision, the candidate will develop complex dynamic models of launch vehicles, verify model quality, and determine steady and transient launch vehicle responses during liftoff, ascent, and staging.\n * Performing multi-body kinematics simulations for separation events like fairing deployment, staging, and spacecraft separation.\n * Define scope of task, perform analyses utilizing appropriate classical and computer aided techniques, and prepare results for presentations and analysis reports.\n * Contribute to the success of vital defense systems that protect the nation by supporting cutting-edge development of upcoming long-range missile defense interceptors, targets, space launch, and strike vehicles.\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications for Engineer Systems Modeling \u0026 Simulation - Level 4:\n\n * Bachelor\u0027s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master\u2019s degree in STEM with 6 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 4 years of related engineering experience\n * Ability to obtain a US DoD Secret security clearance\n * In-depth knowledge of vibration theory, structural dynamics, rigid body dynamics, and finite element methods\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications for Engineer Systems Modeling \u0026 Simulation - Level 5:\n\n * Bachelor\u0027s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master\u2019s degree in STEM with 10 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 8 years of related engineering experience\n * Ability to obtain a US DoD Secret security clearance\n * In-depth knowledge of vibration theory, structural dynamics, rigid body dynamics, and finite element methods\n\n\n\n \nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Active DoD Secret security clearance, or higher\n * Bachelors or Master\u0027s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering\n * Proficiency in FEA software, preferably NASTRAN , ABAQUS, or Femap\n * Proficiency in MATLAB or Python\n * Ability to apply fundamental analytical techniques and prepare written analyses\n * Previous experience with launch vehicle coupled loads analysis (CLA) and Craig-Bampton models\n * Experience with modal test, modal analysis, or explicit dynamics/FEA\n * Familiarity with Linux\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
