The Engineering Governance position will be responsible for the development, deployment, and sustainment of the Engineering Governance Council. This encompasses establishing a comprehensive framework to ensure cross-functional alignment within Engineering and facilitating the escalation of items across councils, boards, and supporting functions. The individual in this role will serve as Chair of the Engineering Governance Council and contribute to synergistic efforts with the RTX TG&E Council. Moreover, the role will advocate for a culture of accountability, ownership, transparency, and collaboration across the Engineering organization.

What You Will Do

This position is expected to have a significant impact on the Raytheon Engineering Organization through the following contributions:

Strategic Alignment:

• Ensures alignment across functions, business units, and organizational goals.

• Drives consistency in decision-making and supports strategic priorities.

Enhanced Decision-Making:

• Establishes a structured framework for addressing complex challenges.

• Facilitates the escalation of critical issues and the resolution of cross-functional conflicts efficiently.

Improved Accountability:

• Fosters a culture of accountability by clearly defining roles, responsibilities, and ownership for key decisions and initiatives.

Operational Efficiency:

• Streamline processes, reduces redundancy, and enhances collaboration across teams.

• Leads to improved productivity and resource optimization.

Risk Mitigation:

• Proactively identifies, assesses, and addresses risks to ensure compliance and minimize potential disruptions.

Innovation Enablement:

• Facilitates the integration of new ideas, best practices, and technologies through cross-functional dialogue and alignment.

Communication and Transparency:

• Promotes open communication and ensures decisions are well-documented, shared, and understood across the organization.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. 

• Experience in functional engineering or program management.

• Experience in change management, transformation, continuous improvement, or process improvement roles.

• Experience leading teams and enterprise-scale initiatives.

• Experience driving cross-functional transformation and improving process maturity.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

• Experience managing large teams in a technical capacity.

• Active Secret Clearance (Department of Defense).

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Proven ability as an engineering leader to influence change across hardware, software and systems organizations.

• Program Management certification or experience.

• Excellent presentation and proposal skills.

• Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
