Job Description - Engineering Maintenance Manager

The Engineering Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the development and execution of maintenance strategies to ensure equipment reliability, uptime, and safety across the manufacturing operations. This position oversees a team of maintenance engineers and provides support to technicians, focusing on preventive and predictive maintenance programs, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.  This person must have a strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical controls, robotics, PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics. The role is critical to driving operational efficiency, reducing downtime, and supporting production goals in a high-volume manufacturing environment.


Will Do:



  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance engineers, across multiple shifts.

  • Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to optimize equipment reliability and availability.

  • Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to schedule, track, and improve maintenance performance.

  • Analyze equipment performance and downtime data to identify trends, chronic failures, and areas for improvement.

  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode effect analysis (FMEA) to prevent equipment failures.

  • Collaborate with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Production to support new equipment installation, commissioning, and ramp-up.

  • Drive continuous improvement through TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and utilize Lean methodologies.

  • Train and develop maintenance engineers to enhance skillsets and support cross-functional flexibility.

  • Support emergency response and rapid recovery strategies during major breakdowns or unplanned downtime.


Will Have:



  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or STEM degree

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing or related industries

  • 10 years of leadership experience (People Leading)

  • 5+ years' experience with mechanical systems, electrical controls, robotics, PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

  • Demonstrated experience implementing Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), or condition-based maintenance programs.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive data-driven decision-making.

  • Understanding of OSHA, NFPA 70E, ISO 14001, and other safety/environmental compliance requirements.

  • Culture leader with excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.


Would Love:



  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or equivalent.

  • Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).

  • Experience with automation systems, smart sensors, and Industry 4.0 technologies.

  • Working knowledge of Kaizen, SMED, and other Lean tools.
