The Engineering Manager's main objective is to lead a team of engineers in building scalable, high-impact digital solutions. This role requires a strong technical foundation, product mindset, and business domain knowledge to bridge the gap between engineering, product, and business strategy. You will be responsible for driving technical excellence, product innovation, and strategic alignment while fostering a high-performing engineering culture.
What You Will Do:
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation
Ensure scalability, security, and performance in software architecture and development practices
Drive engineering best practices, including CI/CD, DevOps, cloud-native development, and microservices architecture
Work closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Business Stakeholders to define and prioritize features based on customer needs, market trends, and business goals
Translate business objectives into engineering solutions, ensuring alignment between product strategy and technology execution
Act as a technical advisor to business leaders, helping them understand technology trade-offs and opportunities
Drive agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) to ensure high-quality, timely delivery of products
Secure a clear line of sight between your team activities and Luminor's strategy and goals: ensure that subordinates have meaningful and measurable objectives, have a clear understanding of the direction and goals of Luminor; delegate responsibility and authority for cascading the team objectives
What We Expect:
Proficiency in using project management and collaboration tools, including but not limited to Jira, Confluence, and other
Understanding of engineering principles and methodologies
Staying updated with emerging technologies and industry advancements
Strong background in software development, system design, and architecture (experience with cloud platforms, APIs, and microservices is a plus)
Proven experience working in product-focused engineering teams, collaborating closely with product managers
Deep understanding of business domain knowledge, preferably in Banking and FinTech
Strong knowledge of agile methodologies, DevOps, and modern engineering best practices
7+ years of experience in software engineering, with 2+ years in a leadership or management role
Fluent English is required in spoken and written communication due to working on the Pan-Baltic level
