Job Description - Engineering Manager

If you're a veteran with a solid engineering background and a passion for leadership, we've got an opportunity that aligns perfectly with your skills.

Our client is on the lookout for an Engineering Manager to spearhead our engineering initiatives at its York, PA plant. This role is pivotal in driving innovation, ensuring operational efficiency, and leading a team of dedicated engineers to support the mission of delivering top-tier refractory products.

If you've led engineering teams, managed complex projects, or driven operational improvements during your military service, you'll find this role both familiar and rewarding. Your experience in high-stakes environments, coupled with your leadership abilities, makes you the ideal candidate to oversee and enhance the engineering operations.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Lead and Mentor: Guide a team of engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and technical excellence.

  • Project Management: Oversee engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring they align with company objectives, are delivered on time, and within budget.

  • Innovate and Optimize: Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and technological advancements.

  • Collaborate Across Departments: Work closely with production, maintenance, and other departments to ensure engineering solutions meet the plant's needs and drive overall success.

  • Ensure Compliance: Maintain adherence to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies in all engineering activities.

  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the engineering department's budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and financial targets are met.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for engineering matters, communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.



Requirements

Must have served in the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Reserves, or U.S. National Guard.

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related field) is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 7 years in engineering roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership capacity, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and operational technologies.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and drive organizational change.

Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical skills with a track record of developing effective solutions to complex challenges.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
