The Engineering Manager is a key leadership role responsible for the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of all plant equipment and related processes. This position oversees the Maintenance Department, manages capital and major maintenance projects, and leads initiatives to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), reduce downtime, and drive long-term equipment reliability and process stability. The role requires a strong mechanical engineering background combined with proven leadership and project management skills.
-Lead and develop the Process Engineering and Maintenance Departments to ensure safe, efficient, and effective support of plant operations.
-Monitor and react to maintenance KPIs and reporting metrics (downtime tracking, PM compliance, MTTR, MTBF, etc.).
-Ensure maintenance resources are aligned with plant priorities and production schedules.
-Work with the Engineering team to develop work scrap metrics and process related action plans.
-Work with Quality on root cause analysis.
-Create and update floor operating procedures.
-Lead FMEA development and updates
Project Management
-Lead capital projects, equipment upgrades, and installations from concept through completion, including budgeting, timeline management, and vendor coordination.
-Manage large-scale maintenance and engineering projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Equipment & Process Reliability
-Monitor and analyze downtime and OEE data to identify chronic issues and improvement opportunities.
-Lead root cause investigations for mechanical failures and process-related issues; implement robust corrective actions.
-Drive proactive maintenance strategies, including predictive technologies and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs.
-Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance, process stability, and overall plant efficiency.
Technical Oversight
-Provide advanced mechanical engineering expertise in troubleshooting and optimizing plant systems and equipment.
-Maintain up-to-date documentation for plant equipment, including maintenance procedures, drawings, and specifications.
-Collaborate with operations, quality, and engineering teams to ensure equipment meets performance, safety, and quality standards.
Requirements:
-Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
-7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with increasing responsibilities in equipment engineering, maintenance, and project leadership.
-Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing technical teams.
-Demonstrated success in managing capital and maintenance projects within budget and timeline constraints.
-In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, manufacturing equipment, and process engineering.
-Expertise in maintenance systems (CMMS), downtime analysis, and reliability improvement methods (TPM, RCM).
-Proficient in OEE metrics, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.).
-Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and interface with all levels of the organization.
Preferred Skills:
-Experience in automotive, textile, or other high-volume manufacturing industries.
-Working knowledge of automation and controls systems.
-Familiarity with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 standards or other industry-specific quality systems.
-Proficiency in CAD software and plant management systems (MES, SCADA).
